Favorite or Best restaurants in St. Paul or Minneapolis

I have once, and I was very impressed. I’ll try any place once but relatively few make in on my “would return” list, and this one definitely does. One thing I really like is that they don’t go all wild with their presentation - nothing wrong with it, but they’re not stacking 8 things on top of one another. I find that too many nicer places have entree menus that ultimately devolve into “meat starch veg”, and while some of their entrees are like that, they’ll have unique items like farro or a “salad” of cornichons.

Good to know. I’ve made reservations a few times, but had to cancel for different reasons. I’ll have to put it back on my places to try list.

Also they don’t allow photography in the dining room - perhaps this is why your foodie friends didn’t like it?

I enjoy Victory 44 on the Northside quite frequently. Corkage is ~$15- 20

Jay, most places mentioned are $20-$30 per bottle. They are also, as you know, a bit of a drive from Burnsville. Some recommendations more in southern Minneapolis and southern suburbs are…

In Season. I’ve always had corkage waived. You might be charged $10-$20.
Cafe Maude (mentioned upthread). Don’t know corkage fee, but probably less than $25.
Grand Cafe. Have never had to pay corkage. Again, might be $10-$20.
Parma 8200 in Bloomington. Probably $25.
Lynn on Bryant. Have not had to pay corkage. Probably $10, if anything. Killer food, and my top recommendation for you.

Agree with Brads rec Lynn on Bryant.

Thanks much on the info and places- really appreciate it
