I bought some great local honey over the weekend, and wanted some ideas on recipes featuring honey. I’ve already made a yogurt sauce for fruit–greek-style yogurt, with orange zest and a bit of orange juice, then some honey to sweeten it up a bit. What other honey recipes/honey uses do you have?
Bruce
Our favorite use for honey lately is to drizzle some over goat cheese and top with toasted walnuts. Serve it with toast points or a fresh baguette. Works great with a nice bottle of Sauternes.
Not really a recipe but a great use for honey.
Balsamic vinaigrette. Just add a little honey to your favorite recipe.
Chipotle sweet potatoes. Add a bit of honey to counteract the tendency of the chipotles en adobo to be slightly bitter.
Baklava!
Bob–That sounds interesting–do you have a specific recipe for chipotle sweet potatoes?
Thanks, Bruce
Bake until tender. Mash with a bunch of butter, cream, salt, pepper, pureed chipotle en adobo (careful) and a big squeeze of honey to taste. Thassit. I like 'em with big, double-cut pork chops and roasted brussels sprouts.
