I’ve always thought that someone could make Panini into a truly cheap, fast and much more affordable type of franchise food than burgers and fries. The efficiency of the large stands at VinItaly are amazing, the ingredients are good and they are CHEAP.

Why not Banh Mee?

Not sure why needs to be changed with the Banh Mi situation. It’s quick as hell already and super cheap. How much cheaper can it get. It’s $3.00 for a great Banh Mi and it’s ready in 2-3 minutes for you to take out. Is it different in NY?

Nope, similar in NY Charlie. Prices have crept up though. Most better ones are hovering near the $5 mark (still a bargain comparatively).

If anything, the chain is probably looking to expand availability. Outside of most Chinatowns, these babies are elusive.

That’s pretty cheap. We haven’t had a $2 one in awhile. I guess we have a popular chain with buy 2 get a 3rd free at $3 each, so effectively $2 each.

They’re $4 at most places I go to in the Chicago suburbs. I’m convinced that I could live, quite happily, on Banh Mi for the rest of my life.
