Fall 23 shipping season

Thanks! I’ll talk to them again!

You should be able to re-route to a UPS hub to hold it no problem. The stores are more hit and miss. Some claim they cannot sign for alcohol on anyone else’s behalf.

This is the way. Although I’ve traded hiding wine from my spouse who thinks I have a spending problem to being shamed by the local FedEx worker who thinks (knows?) I’m an alcoholic.

It is. I still have a few cases total incoming, various quantities from:

Beta
Carlisle
Fass
Enfield
Kutch
Vincent
Somehow I failed to order Goodfellow, but with space constraints that may be an error I can live with.

Yes, I always ship to may local Fedex HAL when the wine store uses Fedex. If they use UPS, I ship to my local UPS Store where I have a PMB box.

Lately I pay extra for 2-Day, which seems to make care and delivery of boxes more of a priority (to Fedex). Whenever possible on the pricy cases, I also pay extra to insure.

In this recent mess with Saratoga, they shipped regular Fedex ground, which seems to mean the cases travel with the majority of the shipping herd, and I tend to see more problems arise that way.

4th email yesterday to Saratoga - still radio silence on their end. Will call them today.

My beef is more with Saratoga and non-responsiveness than it is with the usual Russian roulette we all play with courriers.

Wow, that’s wild that it happened with a delivery to a FedEx store. That’s a new low.

Steve. This is the way.
I always have FedEx and UPS hold my packages. Thankfully I have a good relationship with a full time employee at the both stores.

I always give them a bottle every shipping season as a Thankyou. Wine isn’t necessarily their “drink of choice.”……. But I’ve convinced them to pair their Chick-fil-A with a bottle of Champagne/Sparkling wine. :sunglasses:

I have to put them into pending or I would totally forget what is on the horizon.

Got Bedrock via UPS and Under the Wire via FedEx today. Or was it the other way around? Either way, kind of funny to get two shipments from the same producer, via different carriers.

Other way around I think

Not Fall yet in southern Arizona. 100 degrees again today, like most years. To wineries, auction houses, and wine stores: Please do not send us wine purchases into this heat. This happens every fall. Shipping weather for us normally starts about mid-Nov. Thank you.

Had to snag more storage space today. Delivery season is coming

So far this week have gotten Jean Edwards, Riverain, and Quivira. Bedrock was damaged in transit so they are sending another. Aubert, Realm, Kinsman Eades, Bevan, Greer, and Carlisle coming in hot soon. Seriously need to drink more to make more room in the cellar for the onslaught.

Too many producers to name and way too much wine and not enough room. Same as everyone else lol.
