Order in for 6 OVZ + 18 spread around the other zins/heritage reds. More than I want to spend, more than I have room to store, less than I want to have available to drink.
Harder than it should be to keep it to a case. Two each of Banfield, Bedrock Heritage, Beeson Ranch, Evangelho Heritage, Monte Rosso, and Old Vine Zin
Saxum today.
Kept it to a case.
Barbera sold out even before I got through my order! Wishlisted…
Case of OVZ, then some Dolinsek, Katushas and Bedrock Heritage.
Thanks for saving me typing!
2 years ago it was just 1/1 for me. Up to 3 this year. Hopefully your wishlist gets granted (should be higher up on the list at least), it is as described in the pod, an absolutely wonderful food wine.
I honestly can’t believe a case of OVZ is $264 (shipping and tax get you to just over $300). That is a shocking value year in and year out.
Drats!! Just pulled up offer (Roy Piper was first in line), will have to wish-list Barbera and hope.
My daughter just started working with Ann Kramer at her Shake Ridge Ranch/Vineyard. Decided after college that she just doesn’t want to have an “inside” job for her career. Long story… So, viticulturist is her path.
Interestingly my account still showed two Barberas (down from 3 when I had first checked one hour ago). Bought both and wished for one more. Barely kept it to two cases. Don’t sleep on the whites!
Not sure why this would happen as the top of the offer email states:
“Welcome to the Bedrock Fall Release! Allocations are guaranteed until Sunday, July 28 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time. If you are not allocated a wine or would like more than allocated, we encourage you to use the wish list function. We are very conservative with allocations and we are often able to grant wish list requests.”
I took that to mean I wasn’t “allocated” it, thus not guaranteed. They also note that they’re optimistic they will able to grant a lot of wish list requests so fingers crossed.
Not too worried and happy about the rest of my haul!
If history* is any guide, the Barbera is not sold out, but it was selling fast enough that they switched it to wish list only and will then allocate once all wishes are in.
*Started to type “past history” but felt the hand of @Matthew_King slap mine as I typed.
Edit - I just looked and mine is still showing a two-bottle allocation of Barbera (like Luca, down from three earlier- I think) so they didn’t entirely go wish list only.
Order in for 6 x OVZ, 6 x Bedrock Heritage, 6 x Beeson Ranch, 3 x Dolinsek, 3 x Monte Rosso. Wishlisted a couple magnums of Bedrock Heritage.
Should not have ordered anything. Had resigned myself to just ordering a 6 pack of Evangelho (my favorite Bedrock wine) and ended up getting 3 Barbera and 3 Bedrock Heritage as well to round out a case.
FOMO is real.
Case and half, at least one of everything other than the syrah (my wife isn’t into syrah and I have way too many) and doubles of SB, Bedrock, OVZ, Monte Rosso, Evangelho and maybe one other. Not sure where I’m going to put it all.
A case for home, 15 bottles sent to storage…
5 bedrock
3x Monte Rosso, dolinsek, evangelho, ovz
2x beeson, barbera, bien Nacido
Singles of Compagni, sauv blanc, banfield, and Carlisle
FOMO is real for 2023 vintage!!! Have yet to go the auction route, but am really considering a (200-300 bottle) lot to winebid…cannot fit the anticipated 2023 vintage.
Me too. Listening to the podcast turned out to be a very poor way of maintaining my resolve to limit purchases!
This happened during the spring release last year for a few wines. Allocations changed due to high demand. But yes, it irks me when wineries do this.
What irks me are people who hesitate, miss out and then blame someone else. There are no guarantees in life or wine. If you are interested in something pull the trigger early.
