Extradimensional Wine Co.

While I still can’t purchase the wines yet as a non-camper, the information on the wines are now up on the website. They definitely sound like Hardy’s wines. I’m excited

Anger management issues?

Okay…note to self: don’t post after three Moscow Mules and two glasses of wine. Mea Culpa. Just purchased a mixed case of the EWCY and three each of the mixed white and light red. See, not so bad…half of my yearly requirement already fulfilled.

In for 1 mixed case.

When I started poking around the Extra Dimensional Wine Co site right after the D&R Breakup announcement and read about the Yeah Camp, David’s was my first reaction also- it seemed out of step w the D&R ethos.

Then I thought about how many times I’ve lent money to or invested money in a start-up project because I like the people, thought it a cool idea, or just wanted to help get it off the ground. ExtraD jumps all those hurdles for me, so despite my initial reservations I gladly signed up for Yeah Camp. I viewed it as helping get something going that I thought worthwhile.

I’ve read each comment on this thread regarding Yeah! Camp and appreciate the discourse. I’m also a phone call or email way for any questions or concerns regarding the Yeah! Camp model. I believe Hardy addressed most of the inquiries, and I would emphasize that at our core, he and I are seeking to provide wine and experiences that bring joy. Yeah! Camp is one path to this as is the general release (coming this Friday). We are excited for these wines to be out in the world, and we are grateful for the support.

Hardy,

While I appreciate you jumping into the comments, you still haven’t directly addressed David’s question. “In any event it didn’t matter for me, as by the time I saw the email it was sold out. Glad Hardy is getting the support, but I guess after supporting his work for 8 vintages I go to the back of the line.”

I will ask you directly. Can you explain where former D&R customers fit into the new company?

I may have taken the Yeah Camp “36 bottle minimum” differently than some have. I thought it related to the free shipping. My understanding is that Yeah Campers get free shipping on orders 12 bottles or more per release. 4 releases per year. Don’t know if this is correct, but thought if one had already ordered 36 bottles in a year, subsequent shipments in that year even if less than 12 bottles would also have shipping comped.
Re-reading I can see why one would think the 36 bottle minimum is a requirement for being in the Yeah Camp. I wasn’t sure if I’d order a full 36 bottles over a year. :astonished: I figured if I didn’t hit 36 bottles I wouldn’t get free shipping on smaller orders.
Not too concerned, peeked at the new release. I’ll order a couple of each of the whites, then 4 of each red to fill a case later today if my credit card hasn’t exploded by then.

Seriously? You’re really comparing Dirty and Rowdy (where Hardy was an owner) and a publically-traded company worth $41,200,000,000?

Transformative!

This shatters everything we thought we knew about wine. It is a defining Extradimensional wine.

Burn the boats and skin the goats, there is only adventure ahead. This is the bottle you open for someone to remember for the rest of their wine drinking life.

If you have barrel tasted with Hardy in the last two years, this wine was always the final taste. The last bit of wow and wonder that you will never return from.

Old vine muscat, palomino, chasselas, mission, flame tokay, unidentified table grape and lightning strikes of all that is. There are light bulb wines yet this is like staring through the sun. Bury me with this elixir.

Enjoy with Bo Ssaam.

Kate-
Good luck this week!!

Paul-
Are you getting ExtraD emails? I did without signing up, simply because I was a D&R customer. We know about it because we were D&R buyers. Lots of peeps who would be interested have no clue about it because Hardy & Kate don’t have their emails from the D&R days. That’s some kind of priority, might not be the front of the line but it sure isn’t the back.

Thanks for the info, I’ll have my partner check. When David’s question didn’t get answered, I figured the answer was no. This makes me more hopeful.

I don’t see this model taking off, how many lists are there with any wait time, 5? If you don’t have a full list, there’s no point in tacking on a “PSL” fee. This crew managed it due to its tiny size, and long time fans, but it’ll be a tiny niche in the market.

Life was soo much simpler when we only had to deal with “liquid viagara”. neener

I’m not sure other wineries are looking to duplicate this - Hardy and Kate are unique individuals and this offering is a unique one as well. Take a look at their offerings above - these are definitely ‘outside the box’ type wines . . .

Cheers

I’m happy to provide additional answers- Please keep in mind we are a two person operation in the middle of harvest (while also shutting one business down, launching another, and having a release- There are a few moving pieces here).

First- Huge thanks to everyone that placed orders this AM. It is amazing to see the support and enthusiasm for this new launch.

Priority:
Yeah! Camp is the only pre-release. We capped it at a size so that everyone on the mailing list members have an opportunity to buy wine on 9/24 AM. If you were a D&R customer, you might magically be on the EWCY list already. (You might need to create a new password and you should check your spam folders for mail from @winecoyeah.com- we’ve sent 2-3 since last week).

To answer Paul and David directly- There is no other pre-release / early priority besides Yeah! Camp. (There is a pre and a general release).

Shipping:
For Yeah! Camp, shipping is included on 12 bottles + per order. Note: Our system is still funky if you order a mixed case and single bottles, so we have to void any shipping charge if it appears. (We are on it).

Releases:
We will have 4 releases and like in the past, a special 1 bottle release here and there. We ask that Yeah! Campers spread 36 bottles spread out across those releases in any way they choose.

Our first online Yeah! Event is 11/6 and Kate and I are looking at Spring dates for our first big Yeah! event in Northern CA.

Wines:
The wines are listed on the website now and the full notes posted above with the pricing in the notes - ($42-$55).
All of these wines saw 20+ months in barrel (different than my other wines). They were bottled this summer (these aren’t futures / buying wine in barrel).
Though they list pairings- all of them go great with Bo Ssam. We tried them all on Sunday night and almost put that as the pairing for everything…

Future Wines
As mentioned, Mourvèdre will always be there and there are new additions- Primitivo, a new Old Vine Grenache, a new rosé (Mourvèdre and Primitivo), Chard (2), Pinot Noir, Cab Sauv, Franc, Merlot, several co-ferments, etc. I’m psyched to make all of these as I think they are from spectacular and from in my wheelhouse sites. Also- if anyone has followed any 2021 vintage threads- yields are way down, and virtually non-existent in many old vine, dry farmed sites (70-95% down). Seeing this coming (and having a ton of old vine, dry farmed sites) gave us the initiative and opportunity to work with these additional sites.

Whether via Yeah! Camp or via the 9/24 release, we hope you get a chance to try and share these wines. I am very very happy to launch with these.

Should you want to reach out, Kate and I are easy to reach- either Kate@ or Hardy@ winecoyeah.com
