Been rooting for Britt Rescigno since she hit the stage a few years back. She was head chef for a few years at a casual fish house on the Jersey shore. Simple, well thought out, perfectly executed food was her calling card.
I’m rooting for Sara Bradley, as I’d like a Southern chef to win, but I wouldn’t be unhappy if any of the semi finalists won as they are all very talented and deserving. I’ve seen a lot of unwarranted criticism of Britt online, but she continues to cook at an extremely high level. With blind judging, you can’t keep winning the way she does if you aren’t delivering the goods.
His real name is Guy Ferry and he tells everyone he’s from Napa because it sounds cool, but he’s really from Humboldt County, which is in the middle of nowhere and only famous for weed and trees. He’s created an incredibly successful career, and I don’t begrudge him in the least, but just about everything about his TV personality is fake, so I have a trouble seeing past that and don’t really watch any of his shows.
He can’t really cook and not a great restaurateur. His Times Square venue was a huge flop. But has the personality made for what he does. He won the inaugural season of Food Network Star and they realized pretty quickly where to slot him.
Triple D is by far the most successful show on food network. Fieri got a $100MM 3 year deal. Flay then tried to get Fieri money and FN told him to take a walk. I think he settled for chump change at $20 MM per yr.
His paternal grandfather’s name was Fieri and he changed it to sound more American. Funny that Guy changed it back because he can’t cook Italian food worth a lick.
But I have a lot of respect for what he has accomplished. I like that he gives the Mom and Pop’s a venue so that we all don’t ending up eating at Applebees or Olive Garden
