I’d be interested in how they nailed the iterations on these wines. Based on the pricing they aren’t coming direct from the winery and it is extremely difficult to guarantee a specific Grand Siecle iteration unless it is noted on the bottle. Cork codes are not anywhere near 100% accurate in linking to an iteration and not all of these releases have a cork code. Case/Six Pack packaging codes can also help, but they are also nowhere near 100% accurate. Label, packaging, bottle changes can also help, but not to the degree that you can be specific about every bottle listed here.
Yall get a lot better emails from them than I do…
There are two lists - one for everyone, and one that’s smaller for what seems to be “frequent purchasers” or something. The latter list is for offers where there’s very limited quantities, with two resutling benefits (1) frequent customers get “better” access and (2) Envoyer doesn’t have to deal with a crush of emails requesting to buy when it will sell out the small number of bottles quickly.
I do note that reason 2 is a bit weaker now that most purchases are handled through the website rather than by reply “I’ll take x bottles”
Greg still does that on the really limited offers like DRC, etc.
Right - those are the small list offers, where he doesn’t put the offer on the website as a “buy now”.
