Just opened the 2016 Heron Lake Pinot last night – it’s such a pretty wine!! Confirmed my decision to make sure I order the '17 during this release! John’s notes above are spot on, I recalled much more minerality in the 2014 Antle (which Delectable claims was 125 weeks ago – eeks!), but you can’t ignore it here. As more air seeped into my glass (and decanter), it was like refined sassafras decided to start raining on my pinot (so fun), and I felt like I was tasting more fruit here than I did with the Antle. Also, my notes from the 2014 Antle showed more mint and herbaceousness.

Really excited about the new Syrah, too!
