Embedding a GIF

How do I embed a GIF from, say, Giphy into a post? I tried using the link function available over the reply box (right between the Italics and Quotes), but that didn’t work.

Finally got it. Needed the direct hyperlink to make it run. Working from mobile, I couldn’t just upload an image or link to the downloadable version.
