Eating in Bogota?

My 25 year old niece will be spending the summer in Bogota and will be living near the “restaurant district”. She is a foodie and is happy to try local cuisine. Does anyone have any recommendations for her?

Not been there for quite a few years. I will warn you about drinking alcohol at that altitude, I had a Martini before dinner first night there and it was like drinking three. It was not funny at the time. If you ask the concierge at your hotel they usually are helpful.

Check out the Anthony Bourdain episode on Columbia, had some good stuff on restaurants and food stands. And yeah, altitude is major, 8500ft or so (though not nearly as bad as flying into La Paz).

Arepas. Eat them. Never been to Bogota but I’ve been to ‘the arepa lady’ in Jackson Heights!
