well I am giving him the “Northeast” tour in 36 hours. Friday we are going to head to New Haven to go to Sally’s. then back to NYC for a concert at night. not making dinner plans because who knows how long it will all take. Saturday we can roam around and go to Bklyn maybe for a meal - he has 1 business appt to hit up in midtown on Saturday then another show in NYC Saturday night. so we’ll see but dont think we can do 3 meals in Bklyn.
For dinner we may just do Sugar Fish - low corkage, near the venue, he likes Sushi, so seems easy.
He lives in LA. He has been to Sugarfish out there and said it’s fine due to location/corkage and our plans. We looked at a few in the village but it may be hard to get to Radio City in time and we want to hit Aldo’s prior to the show
I have tix for Saturday. But I had surgery two weeks ago and can’t get around that easily so my wife and kid are going. I’m super bummed (and jealous). It’s going to be an epic show.
Stop at El Chillito in CT (I used to frequent the one in riverside/greenwich but any are good) for tacos, breakfast (though they only open at 10) or otherwise.
I’ve had tix for Saturday night since it was announced. Was literally looking at buying tix for Friday night just a few hours before I hurt myself. Glad I held off. Love him.
If you see a beautiful middle aged woman with a stunning 24 year old girl, say hi to my wife and kid.
great service and team, comfortable place, great music on the stereo and the food was excellent. ordered a savennieres from Ogereau from the list and really enjoyed ourselves.
I watched that video you shared and that trompo taco looked absolutely unbelievable, as did those burritos from the first place! Philly has great Mexican, but very little diversity as almost all the population is from the same area (Puebla). We just can’t compete with nyc or la
We did Los Burritos Juarez this morning. They had 3 breakfast specials. Extremely good. If you can make it out to Fort Greene, I would highly recommend.
Two great meals. Smithereens was a fantastic setting for @Greg_K Schäfer-Fröhlich dinner. The food pairs so well with riesling. I like that they don’t change the menu too much and just keep perfecting my favorite dishes.
Finally made a return visit to Kelang and it was once again excellent. They now have a liquor license and have a very nice well thought out list. We started with 24 Lauer Stirn which was excellent with the food. We did corkage on a few additional bottles (not sure what their official policy is).
Today has been a banner day for Resy and OpenTable notifications. So many cancellations because of the storm. I have gotten multiple notices from Theodora, Sailor, Four Horsemen etc. Too funny.
Went to Golden Ratio last night for cocktails. I really like what they are doing. There is great balance and precision to their craft cocktails. Seems like there is a healthy symbiosis with Place des Fetes, with people both pre- and post-gaming dinner at PdF.
Sunday lunch at Le Chéne was absolutely wonderful. Perfect lunch menu that featured an outstanding Chicken. The wine list is fantastic. You can find lots of wine for ~$100 or if you want to order high-end the wines have very reasonable markups. It is a great light filled room that overlooks Carmine street and highlights a large Basquiat piece. The playlist works well for me. Can’t do much better (other than 4H) for a long leisurely Sunday lunch in a snowy NYC. We had the Keller and placed it next to their Chardonnay lineup (and a beautiful 21 Foillard Cote du Py)! Sadly we did not have 90 Coche CC. The Keller Chard was stunning!!
