went to Playa Provisions last night. Not surprisingly, it continues to satisfy. What was surprising, however, was the $15 corkage … gotta love that!

It was just a lil’ dinner with my wife and mom. Offlines really aren’t a part of my life at this time, thanks to a busy work schedule and having two young kids. With such cheap corkage, tho, I suppose it could be worth looking into an offline there, for those who can do those these days. 
Good news: I was able to snag a couple of seats at Somni! Bad news: corkage is $150!!! Is that the highest corkage in the city?

probably.
High corkages make sense to me for fine dining restaurants with only wine / beer. Gotta drive alcohol sales through the lists/wine pairings.
wow - i’m 100% against those ADA website lawsuits, but these guys are just begging for it.

Has anyone eaten at Wally’s? I got an email about prix fixe lunch at $39 that looks appealing.
(The BTG wine prices aren’t though).

Torrance/gardena is pretty much all Japanese food outside of a few casual Hawaiian spots (like Gardena bowling for Hawaiian)
Fishing With Dynamite in Manhattan Beach is pretty damn good.

Baran’s 2239 in Hermosa Beach, Michelin Bib Gourmand. Not a great wine list, but they offer corkage. $25 I believe.
