I’ve been following this one for awhile- looks crazy. Not sure I will be going- still pissed off about Batali screwing the employees, getting sued for it and losing.
I enjoy visiting the NYC one. Prices are high and I don’t buy much but still I like to look. The Rosticceria makes delicious sandwiches. Worth going just for that.
Do you mean getting sued and winning?
The NYC one is pretty good, if kind of a zoo. They seem to have some stuff you can’t find many other places so it’s worth a trip once in a while.
Mario was sued TWICE and lost both times. I just can’t see patronizing someone who cheats their employees to the tune of millions of dollars.
Oh, I guess I thought his losing would be better than his winning since he “got what he deserved.” That’s too bad though. You’d think after the first time they would shape up. I guess it’s cheaper just to cheat your employees.
otoh, the place (ny) is a pretty cool spot to waste some time and money on good food, wine, and hard to find italian groceries.
if you can get pat the “politics” of the owners, chicago will undoubtably be fun.
Opens a week from Monday (Dec. 2). Shelves are being stocked as I write
Can’t wait.
