Sorry for the delayed post here.
This is from a nice evening on the porch two nights ago as part of my birthday celebration.
Gary Margol came over at the last minute and brought the Margaux.
We told all our tall tales and enjoyed the evening despite the humidity.
Didn’t seem to affect the wines.
Some early Birthday wines and short notes.
1990 Les Forts Latour
Dark nose. Absolutely intoxicating. The fruit is dark and focused on the nose and palate. There is significant complexity underneath. Long finish. Profound!
1990 Margaux
Red fruit. Almost sweet. The nose is again intoxicating. There is more feminine red fruit that persists from the nose to the finish. The finish goes on and on. Profound.
1955 Taylor
The nose is a little reticent. Lots of fruit and structure here. Infinate complexity on the palate and finish. Caramel and sexy dark fruit. Sweet. Spice and some element of spearmint.
Profound! Can you believe this is still young. Port is incredible.
More coming on Thursday for the big party.
Cheers
