Dury Duty

Given none of the Coches showed even the slightest hint of premox, I’d be tempted to wait on this one, say another 2-3 years at least, and maybe a bit more.

It doesn’t quite have the power and extract of the '10 (I would wait 10+ years more for that wine if possible) - and was really quite accessible (and totally delicious), but it just feels like it still has even more to (safely) show…

Which restaurant?

Jeremy,

So who makes the better Corton-Charlemagne? Lalou or Coche?

Khiem

I love them both Khiem, both exceptional renditions of the vineyard. Coche is perhaps my stylistic preference. The wines are razor sharp with so much chalky dry extract.

Jeremy

What a night. Bravo.

Paul they making you wash the dishes!? [snort.gif]

Agree with this, comes down to stylistic preference, and for me the Coches hit the mark more consistently that the Leroy’s.

We found much the same when last we did a similar comparison (back in 2011).

FWIW: Neither of these wines is really worth the current tariff - especially at often seen inflated retail prices, and especially compared to say similar wines from Boillot or PYCM at a 10th of the price (or less).

Nah mate, that was Jeremy, much more handy with a cloth than me!!! [wow.gif]

Thanks for the notes, Jeremy.

I once discussed Lalou with Jean-François Coche.
He holds her in high respect.

Khiem

nicely done, and my first thought as well
