I have some '14 and '10 of their Puligny Les Folatières. I opened a '14 last night after noting that they are quite controversial–or better somewhat widely disliked, on CT. By contrast, I thought the wine really lovely and quite old school, though still quite young and intense. I will note that after re-corking and letting the bottle sit in the fridge a bit after apps, during dinner prep, when it come back it seemed more acidic, lemony (though there was some lemon in the main course.) In any case here is my CT note:
I disagree with the previous notes. This is a beautiful wine, classically-styled, at the moment still quite youthful. It has intense concentration in the mid-palate, which might be mistaken for bitterness, but is not such. It is quite rich and round in the mouth, being a 2014, not wan or watery. Slightly leesy on the nose, as well as white peach and some tropicals, and a bit of nut oil. Classic Puligny.
Thoughts?
