I recently spotted a very few bottles of very well stored Domaine Drouhin “Village” and Laurene Willamette Valley Pinots from 1997 in a shop over here in Europe. I am not very familiar with such old vintages. I just had a 1996 Laurene about two years ago. Which was quite nice, but not from spectacular well storage.
How was the 1997 vintage in Willamette Valley / Dundee Hills? Does anyone got recent experience with Domaine Drouhin Pinots from 1997? Thanks very much!!!
The 1997 vintage was poor. IIRC, the rain started in the middle of September and never really stopped. I haven’t that wine, and DDO may have done better than others, but I’m not sure I’d pay a premium for a bottle from that vintage.

1997 is my least-favorite Oregon vintage of the last 20 years. With that said, I would expect these to hold interest, but temper your expectations. Bargaining may be a good approach.
