Domaine Buisson-Charles

This is a tough crowd. Roger, I agree with you - Patrick is the real deal and is making great wines. Did you taste any reds? We had a wonderful older Pommard when we were there and purchased a Volnay.

Yes, just checked my notes. ( glad I take notes [cheers.gif] ) Tasted the 09 Bourgogne, 09 Pommard and 09 Volnay Santenot. I was impressed. Although the Volnay was a bit reduced, I think it’s going to be a very nice wine in time. He used a fair amount of whole cluster in that wine. Also the Bourgogne is a great QPR. Hope to visit again this Fall.

Is there a connection with Boisson-Vadot and Pierre Boisson?

I’m not familiar with either.

They are the same domain–Pierre is the son. Really excellent, cheap meursault that you should not tell anyone else about.

Just to be clear, you mean Boisson Vadot and Pierre Boisson are the same domaine but there is no relation to Buisson-Charles?

Correct–the first two are the same domain. I was wondering if there was some connection with Boisson Charles or if the latter is unrelated to the first two.

Two different spellings. Buisson vs Boisson.

Ooo. right. Never mind.

Any updates? I saw Dennis A posted on a 2017 Meursault that was already advanced in 2024.

Just happen to stop by here…two 2017s premoxed in fall of 2024.

2017 Chassage en Remilly and 2017 Meusault Tessons.

I like the producer and have had some good wines- like 2019 Gouttes D’Or.
Premox is just part of the deal. My two 17s arent representative of anything more than the established risk across a category.

Thanks. The established risk correlates with producers though. I assume you mean this is not a higher rate, although 2 not latinv 8 years gives me pause.

Envoyer put out an offer today.

Had this one recently and have had a number of 15yo BCs that have been fresh. When released the wines can look a bit monolithic , but there’s so much underlying acidity beneath the concentrated fruits.
