Does anyone else ever fantasize about just living with Winebid's under-$29 list?

I’ve spent a lot of time and sublimated sexual energy on searching for wines. Is there anyone else out there who peruses Winebid’s under $29 category either for oneself or for a newbie friend? If you have wine knowledge, meaning a wasted life, isn’t it kind of awesome? Like, I wish a fire would consume what I have wrought and I could start afresh with these gems?

Ha! I’m an under $29 all the time. Sometimes some crazy interesting bottles show up, too cheap to be frauds and not at all too expensive to take chances. I’m happy with my results. And a little ashamed. Wasted life and all…

A wasted life is only a life not wasted.

Why not just go to a large, local retailer and buy wines listed at under $30? You know, such wines are available in retail stores…

Well, the subject posed about fantasizing wines. I’d think that a wasted life would be more un-wasted by fantasizing more bout the $300+ bottles.

I disagree. None of the ones I am interested in are in stores right now.

Yeah, I’ve found some pretty interesting wines you just can’t find in stores for anywhere near auction pricing, even with commission and shipping. In particular I like to check in on wines I new from years ago to see how they’ve aged. Sentimental things that I knew from early on in my wine life, in part to revisit that part of me, in part to see if and how those wines have aged. I’ve had a few duds over the years but in my experience I’m totally satisfied with what I’ve gotten from Winebid. All the better if others disagree I suppose.
