The Mugneret sisters and their mother did this to a 1993 wine during a visit there in 1996. They said their father, the late Dr. Georges, always recommened it for a reticent wine. It was quite the site seeing Christine Mugneret shaking that bottle violently. And, the wine tasted better. A good idea, IMO, to do after you’ve cleaned a wine of sediment; not before.
