We were just told that Lees Solutions will no longer be picking up juice lees, only wine lees. We have tried calling a couple of other options that we have used in the past, and they’re not returning calls. What is everyone doing with their juice lees?
Hi Leslie - Did Lees Solutions give you a reason? Their website says that they intend to expand their services. I’m assuming the heavy juice lees are getting too sulfurous/stinky for them to deal with in transport. We’re not in Sonoma but since in our industrial space we do not have floor drains and the septic system could be overwhelmed I have a sanitation company come in and pump out our IBC tanks. I make sure our sanitation company knows what’s in the tank. ..Cheers, Gary
It seems that they are over capacity already. Same with Refuge.
I used to save them in an IBC and then distribute into the compost pile.
