Last night I put together a dinner at Atlanta restaurant Repast (http://www.repastrestaurant.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) with Anderson’s Conn Valley. And before you ask- no The Todd did not attend!
I thought I would post the menu since they did a really great job. *Full disclosure- this dinner was set up by my business. I only mention that since I think it is appropriate and a lot of people don’t.
Passed Hors D’oeuvres:
Spanish Tortilla with chorizo and paprika
Cheese puffs with rosemary
Tuna avocado tartare, tofu, potato-chips
Served with 2007 Sauvignon Blanc
First Course:
Crab cakes “Repast Style”
Sauteed sesame spinach, yuzu caper butter
(Repast style is really just lots of crab meat, shrimp mousse, scallions and some corn meal dust)
Served with 2006 Chardonnay
Second Course:
Jurgielewicz Farms duck breast a la plancha
Carolina gold rice, wild Burgundian escargot red wine sauce
Served with 2005 Pinot Noir
Third Course:
Porcini crusted filet mignon
Black truffle agnolotti, wild mushroom fricassee
Port wine foie gras sauce
Served with 2006 Right Bank
Fourth Course:
Dark chocolate terrine
extra virgin olive oil, smoked sea salt, toasted pistachios
Served with 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Everything was excellent, but the star of the show was the third course. The wines were good. I will post on them in the proper forum sometime. I just thought the menu warranted a note. Check this place out if you get a chance.
