Old news re Danieli. It will be a 4Seasons in 2024 after renovations. I think Dec 31 2022 it leaves Marriott.
I’ve been meaning to get out here and post for a couple of weeks (and really to thank @An_drew_Gelb for his incredibly detailed trip notes). We spent 19 days in northern Italy in September, and two of our hotel stays were the Grand Hotel Fasano in Gardone Riviera, Lago Garda and the Hotel Castello di Sinio in Sino, Piemonte. Two delightful hotels, and I will absolutely stay at the Castello di Sinio again the next time I head back to PIemonte. I can’t recall if Andrew mentioned this in his original notes, but the Hotel in Sinio is based in a castle that was constructed sometime in the 14th century. Not sure if anything still remains from that period as it had been burned down & sacked a few times during the intervening centuries, but a great location with an excellent staff. My wife and I actually walked one day from the hotel to Serralunga - you have to enjoy inclines, but it wasn’t a bad walk.
