On your receipt, can you tell us what the item # is?
Just an FYI for the wineberserkers crew, Williams-Sonoma ships so if you call them with the previously mentioned codes, they can search which store has it, and ship it to you for about $7-10 per decanter…still a very good deal! I know what I’m getting the Fu man for his wedding…jkjk
Also, most stores have the Riedel Sommelier Stems: Riesling, Water, Rose, Grappa, and Sherry glasses on clearance too. $18 each…
Don’t drink too much of any of those so I passed (I also dont think water needs to be drank from Sommelier riedels but I don’t drink fancy water either).
I think the Sommelier stems are too fragile. I had two, broke both within 6 months…just by hand washing.
My personal favorite wine glass is the Riedel Vitis for Cabernet/Bordeaux and my beloved Schot Weisel’s for Burgundy. Basic Riedels for my whites. New thread??? probably
They were out of the 2 decanters above, but I was able to land 5 Vinum XL Pinot stems & a decanter for $39 total. Someone broke the (missing) 6th stem so it was sold as is.
For those of you in L.A., there’s a place called Tepper Bar Supply, or something like that, just across the street and up a block from the Wine House on Cotner.
They have 1 L glass carafes that are great decanters with a nice, classic kind of rustic bistro look. Easy to pour the wine from it into the glass, and very easy to clean.
If anyone else is interested in the O Magnum, they have it at the Promenade on the Peninsula W-S store in Rolling Hills Estates / Palos Verdes. They still had 4 more (according to their system) at that store after I bought mine tonight. It helps to give the SKU (7998545). I paid for it over the phone and asked them to have it delivered and it cost me an additional $11.
Sorry guys, I missed this post. What ended up happening, my wife went to the Boca Williams Sonoma to pick up the “supposed” O decanter. I was running up to Palm Beach Gardens and Wellington malls (to pick up the Cornetto’s) . When she got there, she called me and said, this is not the O, this is not the photo you showed me. After back and forth, what it actually turned out to be was a Riedel Gift Set with 6 Vinum XL Burgundy Glasses (awesome glass) and one “cheap” glass (not crystal) decanter. The girl who I originally had hold this for me, didn’t know her ass from her elbow it seems. The girl who was helping my wife told me what it was and I realized by doing a quick search that Wine Enthusiast sells those glasses for 2 for $49.95. So, it was not the O, but I got 6 Riedel Burgundy/Pinot Glasses for $38…the gift set was originally priced at $159. The glasses are awesome, but decanter…well its another “glass bowl” for my ever growing cork collection.
Funny that you guys were able to get yours shipped, the stores I called said no way. I would love to order an O Mag decanter if they are still around.
