Dec 6th - NYC - Annual Baller Bubbles

Sorry to hear it. Next time!

I’m very upset I’m not going to be there to redeem myself… but believe me, I will be redeemed…

Who will redeem you? That’s the problem with writing in the passive voice. Since redemption refers to buying back, I ain’t gonna do any redeeming of the unworthy. Anyone else want to volunteer to redeem Peter?

. . .

Time’s up. Hearing none, he’ll just have to suffer the fire and brimstone penalty.

I guess the penalty will be to drink more!

Some people have asked if there is still room - absolutely!

This will be a festive affair

I’m working on getting a special bottle that I will pour blind in addition to the PR Churchill.

I just love to quote myself. I just confirmed that a special bubbly will arrive at my home tomorrow and I will bring it to pour blind if I can find out where the event is.

The address is in your messages, Jay. You replied on the chain. Looking forward to having you if you can remember to come!

Reprinting some messaged questions I’ve gotten:

  • Can I bring anything? Sure, great wine and a smile
  • Can a being a mag? Hell yea
  • Can I bring a +1? Yes, as long as they bring (or you being for them) 1 baller wine and 1 surprise bottle
  • Can I come early? Sure, I’m popping champagne at 4:30 and watching the sunset on the deck TGIF
  • Can I bring an additional non-sparkling wine: sure

Surely we can do better on the FAQ than that.

How about if I bring a Nebuchadnezzar of vintage Krug. Do you carry sufficient personal insurance against the injury one might sustain pouring and/or drinking directly from such a bottle? And also to airlift in a replacement bottle if we are hit by a mob of thieves on mopeds (large mopeds, obviously, to carry the weight)

Best to just log roll some barrels in.

Don’t be such a wimp. At the first Berserkerfest in New York, Leo Frokic brought a Nebuchadnezzar of Taittinger. Somewhere there is a photo of me holding it up and drinking it, but I have not seen it for about 15 years. See my avatar, but that was only a DM.

I am definitely +1. In addition to the PR Churchill, I will bring at least one blind and either a second blind or a bubbly that Rebecca wants to bring. ANyone have a preference for Rose or B de B?

Wonderful.

Rose is my vote

Was unable to retrieve the Pommery Louise in time so I will be bringing an 08 Billecart Cuvee Elisabeth instead.
