De Negoce offer (Part 2)

John,

Missing the > $70 price. And quite frankly, I’ve never heard this name….maybe I’m too old?

Cheers, Tim

Is this thread still active? I haven’t seen any discussion on guesses on the recent releases.

Is anyone else getting shipping notifications. Is DN really planning on shipping in the middle of a massive, nation-wide winter storm when temperatures all over the place are well below zero and shipping everywhere is getting delayed?

Well — it’s very on brand for the new management.

Well, it looks like FedEx already has the shipments. Not sure how to handle the situation. They are guaranteed to be frozen. They’re going to be driving around in FedEx vans in 20-30 degree weather until delivery. Do I just refuse the shipments when FedEx arrives and have them send them back to DeNegoce? I’m not accepting $600 in almost-guarnteed bad wine. Even if I divert them to a FedEx Office store, they’ll still ride around on the van getting frozen for most of the day until the delivery van empties out enough and then heads to the FedEx office store.
Who watches a massive winter storm come in that shut down large swaths of the country and thinks “yeah, THIS is when we should ship out a lot of expensive, volatile, temperature-affected stuff”?

Update: DN suggested holding at location but it’s still going to ride around on the truck all day until the truck gets to the FedEx store, so it’s no different that delivering it to my house. I think at this point my only option is to reject the delivery when it arrives and send it back for a refund. That they would ship this week instead of last week or next week really makes me question whether those running the show at DN know anything about wine and whether I should continue buying from them or not.

IMHO, 20 - 30 F is not a problem, the ones that we saw above that were destroyed
were 40 to 50 degrees colder. It’s 10 - 20 degrees here, and I’m not worried.

Not to pile on to the otherwise fairly dead thread but I bought a case of 601 as a gift for a friend back in October. I hadn’t looked at if it has shipped yet as I figured there would be a few months of bottling and weather delays. But I looked today to see if it had been delivered and it said it had been fulfilled in late November. So I texted my friend to make sure he received. He said no…so I look at the fed ex tracking….

No communication from DN. I guess since it was going to a different address, I didn’t get a FedEx notification either….. so basically I had a case that must’ve broken in transit… and nobody reached out to me or the person who was supposed to receive the shipment…. So I just filed a report tonight…. We’ll see what they say. As in the side, the only purchase I’ve made in the last eight months is a lot 599 and when I picked it up in late, November, the packaging was beat to hell and I wondered if they were using a different type of box…

I haven’t purchased in a while; curious if they still offer the hold and ship at a later time as an option?

Update.
They are reshipping but provided no explanation on if they notify if a problem happens. I know it’s kind of funny to “forget that you had a case of wine that didn’t show up but I know sometime we order a few and we never know when they are going to ship, so I can see how it could be missed.

Any comments or thoughts on the latest lot 576 offer. My buying has drastically dropped off, but this caught my attention. Very good vintage in the AVA.

I opened one, absolutely lovely…
