De Negoce offer (Part 2)

My only 50 missed was/is #350. No regrets there.
I got enough 2023’s now, I believe? Be drinking these beauties happily in my 70’s. Yikes! Old.
Yep, Only $22 in booze bucks………………

I’m done too. There has been nothing in the fall release lineup that remotely interested me. I previously unsubscribed to the emails, the write ups all sound the same, and the value isn’t as good as it is across town (my opinion). Plus I’m sitting on 30+ cases still of original DN and now CamX. Tappin out…

I believe that you are NOT alone in this decision/opinion. :wine_glass:

I remember when lot 400 sold out just based off of early access, before he could offer it to the wider mailing list. Lot 500 sold out fast (but not as fast) as well. Not low 600 languishes….

Lot 400 sold out and he had to explain off the fires…but it was hinting towards Bevan. I was out after that and never even paid attention to 500. Seems that was a dud and was the first post-Cam 00. I’m guessing that dud and this write up didn’t help. That being said, a 2023 Rutherford cab at 14.4 ABV will probably turn out to be pretty good no matter what.

I spent my 596-600 money on a new dishwasher.

Did you save up for #601?:innocent:
I forgot to………

Lasseter. Kamen seems less likely. This is a better offer than 600.

I’m tempted to get a case, but haven’t been pleased with most dN since Cam left. At least this one is more reasonably priced than most of the dN offers.

People build brands, and they’ve made it a faceless organization. It would probably help them to have a page that had quirky information about their team and people’s tastes. And when releases come out, they should have those people’s inputs. Not my brand, but at least when Cam releases something, I know it’s his writeup, his taste, and his selection. It means something.

So true. The Cameron Hughes brand was pretty much awful after Cam. dN seems to try to imitate his style but there’s not much authenticity.

Yeah, i mean, once you have a tuned palate, and you are drinking these bulk wines that are pretty damn good, you are willing to be a bit forgiving. But for sure, it’s nice to feel like you are a part of something and have some trust in some kind of process. Having no idea who is doing the tasting, selection, write-ups…and knowing it’s owned by a massive company, it’s a bit shoulder shrugging knowing I can now buy from CamX.

It’s funny and unsurprising that a company with no personality went the route of lawsuit to a guy who seems like he genuinely loves the process and interacting with customers. It’s like, duh, that’s the freakin business model. Just be a human and not a giant corporate robot. It’s so simple and they have a lot of followers still. All they have to do is work on their brand.

14.6% for SCM Pinot sounds very unappetizing.

PSA for folks who paid for summer hold.

No shipping notifications – none, zero, zip, zilch – for the two cases (550 & 551) I ordered since the new regime. The only way I discovered they were shipped post-summer hold was by, out of curiosity, going on to the website and clicking on those orders. I am doNe with dN.

Looks similar to a Martin Ray SCM PN…?

I made my first purchase from de Negoce, and just received futures Lot 573, which is a 2024 Napa Valley Chardonnay. Previous discussion suggested Grgich Hills as the supplier, but who knows? This was just bottled, so I probably won’t open one for a few months, but I’ve already given two bottles to my neighbor who likes Napa chardonnay. I’d love to hear what it is like if anyone opens one soon. Thanks, Jim

555 was on my porch this afternoon. Didn’t even sign for it. Honestly I forgot I had ordered it. Looks like in the past year my only orders have been 553 and 555.
