Also super hard to comp every offer. A $95 for $30 that’s identical to the $95 (winemakers blend) is not the same as buying excess barrels from a vineyard that sells a $175 wine and now it’s $25. But that’s the fun of the de Negoce.
Interesting side note if this is indeed Robert Craig. Up through 2015 the RC Mt. Veeder cab was sourced from Robin William’s vineyard; this is also the last available vintage of the RC Mt Veeder cab. The first harvest from RC’s estate vineyard was in 2016 but there has not been a commercial release. Wondering if RC is selling some of the juice bulk as the vines mature.
I looked at the winery notes for the Woodenhead spring release 2018 zinfandel release. There is zip there to suggest they are the producers of 93. Do you have a better source you would share?
Black Friday seems like an odd time to offer a new deal. In past he’s just offered discounts on bottle shop. I doubt he pushes something he can sell out a normal time unless it’s a huge mass offering with 1000s of cases.
Maybe the deal of the century will come tomorrow, it will sell out within minutes, people will get upset that they missed it, and Cameron will save the day on Thanksgiving by putting it back up, but with free shipping this time.
My first order was Black Friday last year. (dN50 with free shipping). What a great deal for him. that free shipping hooked me in for like 20 subsequent orders. I keep trying to explain to my wife how much money we are saving:). She is not buying it. Next I’m trying the “inflation” argument that a few years from now each bottle will be 20% more anyway so it’s even a smarter buy. Doubt she will buy it.
