Dawn of the Dead! Zombie Winery Reps invade Los Angeles...

Normally, we pretty much see importers and small distributors who KNOW what we do (97.893% European wine) and, more importantly, what we DON’T do (spoofy, $$$ Cali / Washington stuff). But, today five different domestic winery reps came in without appointments before lunch and then even more after (we’re at 11 now) pitching wines that were fine but over priced and looking increasingly desperate as they did so.

Unlike Zombies, it seems they only come out in the sunlight so maybe I can talk to some CUSTOMERS now…

If you don’t do much domestic, why did you let them pour for you?

Next time, just call me - I’ll do the tasting for you. Wine often tastes better when it is free!

actually, zombies do come out during the day, and the only effective ways to take them out is a high velocity projectile to the brain, or severe blunt force trauma to the head which would affect the brain in a similar fashion.

consider me prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse.

sorry for the hijack…carry on.

We are looking for the sick and wounded to cull from the herd, Todd. One guy said he’d be sure to “get back to you about a real haircut on that back vintage…I could use the space AND the money”…

In a trade magazine today there is an article about a new marketing company that does short intense blitzes on brands and their slogan is “You may have layed off your sales force but you can’t lay off that 50,000 cases of Chardonnay in your warehouse!”. Love it!

just in case ammo is running low.

hell yes!

With the yellow Hummer, they should have gotten The Todd to star in that movie.

Just seems to fit, doesn’t it? The Todd, Zombie Killer. Maybe we’d get a zombie-inspired Ghost Horse cuvée out of it.

I’ll mention that to him in October when I visit.

They grow winegrapes in Europe? Hmm…? neener

I always thought it was a stake through the heart, but your method seems appropriate in some cases.
