Several months ago I’ve tasted 3 vintages each of Chave Crozes-H Silene and St.Joseph Offerus … while all were good the Offerus was always slightly better …
That’s not generally the case with Crozes-H … I love Graillot, Belle, Y.Chave and the old Thalabert …
If the OP is looking for an entry level Syrah from the Rhone valley, St. Cosme CdR would be a good place to start. !00% Syrah and very drinkable.
No.
No.
I’m not a big fan of Chapoutier wines, but their Meysonniers is actually a quite nice wine.
Crozes-Hermitage is not supposed to be plump / full / rich. Why buy a Crozes-Hermitage, if one wants a plump, full or rich Syrah? And IIRC, at least Jaboulet’s and Chapoutier’s Crozes-Hermitages weren’t particularly plump or rich for the AOC - unless the style has changed drastically in the past few years.
What does this even mean? Apropos? Appropriate?
Between Sec, Vinopolis, Avalon, L&E, and probably other shops, you should have a wealth of options. If you go into one of those shops and talk with the right person they should be able to guide you to some good value CH and St. Jo to compare.
À propos.
It’s French.
I know.
Arv has several times used the term “appropros” and in places where “à propos” or “apropos” don’t make sense. That’s why I was asking.
c’mon man !
So Arv can’t spell and Otto can’t read in context. You both lose
I likes Emmanuel Darnaud’s Crozes.
