With the family out of town for the day, I thought a nice, easy lunch with a bottle from the cellar would be fun.
In the glass a brown weak iced tea color.
Old sherry on the nose. Other aromas include old flowers, old wallet, old oldness.
On the palate rather a lot of old acidity, more old sherry and old oldness.

Well, it’s going down the old sink.
The take-out roast chicken and fries were over-done and dried out.
Battin’ 1000 today!!
Did you do a slow-O with this, i.e. no decant? A '95 should be in better shape!
What did you expect with a name like that?
A bit poured off. 6 hour ox. No decant.
You need to stay away from Crappi wine.

Did you sing this substituting “Craipillot” for “Camelot”?
No, but I wish I had that voice!

I’ve never had a Seguin wine or a Craipillot…95s are a very mixed bag. I absolutely love the 95 Hereszytn Gevrey Perrieres, a real stunner of a wine, and the 95 Gouges NSG “Les St. Georges” is just beginning to open up into greatness, but the 95 Mugneret-Gibourg NSG “Chaignot” was a shrilly acidic drink, and the 95 Vogue CM 1er was quite disjointed. I was also a little disappointed in the 95 Chevillon NSG “Les St. Georges,” which while decent was nothing you’d write home about. IMHO, the often maligned 96 vintage is more consistent than 95.

Harry,
I think I had a defective/spoiled/bad bottle. Any reasonable bottle could have been judged on its merits, but this was a mess.
I’ll stick to bel canto rarities

Did you buy it at the same place you got the Brathähnchen und pommes frites? That would explain a lot…
