So, many things wrong with this story.
Was a group of 8 people, (apparently, 18% was mandatory for parties over 6ppl). The total bill was $73 which included food, drinks, and tax. The unpaid “tip” was $16.35 which is actually 22.4% (don’t know how that happened).
The service was apparently terrible.

(on another note, fox news sucks)
Calling the police for $18 is rather ridiculous and killing mosquito with a cannon.
Here in US, I feel like I am paying the waiter’s salary, like if I was his employer. This ain’t right.
Often, the tip doesn’t even go to the person you want to reward for good service:

The whole system stinks.
Wow, I hope that the person who called the police is fired and that the restaurant loses a whole heckuva lot of business.
I would suspect that this has already happened…well, hopefully it’s happened.
