Copain Wines 2009 Winter Mailer due out October 30th.
MIKE:
We’re writing to give our customers advance notice that our winter release will be available beginning Friday, October 30th.
We’ll be releasing our 2007 Garys’ Vineyard Syrah (250 cases) and 2007 Brosseau Syrah (79 cases). Additionally, we will be re-releasing our 2007 Wentzel Pinot Noir ( 300 cases) in single bottle increments. With additional blocks of Wentzel, Wells held back some of this wine for our library and to release at a later date. He held this wine back to see how it transformed in bottle, as it was the first of the 2007 Pinots to be over vintaged.
Overall the 2007 vintage was stellar. The Pinot Noirs all maintain an elegance, purity of fruit and balance with alcohols at 13.5% or less. Allen Meadows of Burghound.com, just released his latest issue (#36) and gave our 2007 Wentzel 90 points.
With the 07 Syrahs, we backed off on the ripeness and percentage of new wood, which in turn allowed the Syrahs to be true to their terroir.
Lastly, and for the first time, in addition to your 3- bottle allocations, we’ve also put together a winter tasting selection package which will include 2 bottles each of the 07 Garys’, Brosseau and Wentzel.
Allocations for these wines will be available until November 27th, at which point we will fulfill wish list requests and offer any remaining wine to waiting list members. So please mark your calendar and look for an email from us next Friday, October 30th!
With the winter release, we will continue to offer free ground shipping if you purchase 12 or more bottles.
Copain Wines would also like to thank our long time supporter and friend, Frank Murray, for traveling up to Healdsburg to film our winter video podcast with Wells. The podcast will be available for viewing on October 30th.
