I am interested in hearing your takes, both good and not-so-good. Who has done well for you in the always enjoyable/hardly dull interactions with the guv’mint folks. Please feel free to send me personal email if you’d like at vergariwines@airpost.net
On a recommendation from Brian Loring I used Compli I was happy with how everything went and it was pretty fast. They did leave out something called a 'Fruit Processors Permit" that the State of California wants, but then about 95% of the people ITB I’ve talked to have never heard of that particular permit.
i would avoid Beer and Wine Services…I had terrible experience with them…it would border on the line of incompetence…my experience is mainly with interstate shipping, rather then TTB/ABC permits, however
Funny, for well over a deade I have referred many many clients to BWS, and I have never had a problem for clients or myself (They do my work also). I saw another posting on a similar thread criticising them, but I can only go by my personal experience and that of my clients.
glad they have worked for you John…just like you I can only speak from experience…I will say that the owner/boss (Andrea, I believe?) is very competent, but most everyone else I dealt with was extremely frustrating…one problem was the high turnover…I dealt with 5 reps in two years, and of those 5, one actually knew what she was doing
my dealings with them were a while ago (haven’t been ITB for a little less than a year, and we stopped using them about 8-9 months before that), so perhaps they have turned it around
I used Compli to get my type 2 and it went very smoothly . . . I have a friend who used to work for them that has set up her own shop, in case you are interested . . .
I don’t know how successful a google search will be as she seems to be under the google radar (Even if you spell Elaine’s last name W-E-L-L-E-S-L-E-Y which I believe is correct). If you’d like to PM me, I will forward her contact information to you.
She was formerly with B&W Services and when they did a good job, she seemed to be the one doing it. I highly recommend her.
I agree that turnover at BWS has been a problem, and things fall through the cracks there. I also agree that Elaine was meticulous, but a little too circumspect to be very helpful. I tended to get recitations of the rules from her without any help on workarounds–that is what you need Andrea for.
Compliance Connection out of Santa Rosa did ours and I thought it was pretty painless. I checked on pricing and they seemed to be pretty fair. Linda Fox came out to see me multiple times and their follow up on reporting is fantastic. They keep me organized and in line. Erin Redding was our specialist, Linda Fox is one of the owners.
