Took me way too long to figure this one out! For all I knew, people were talking about Domaine de L’ElĂ©phant. cheesehead

that’s good—great switch from the usual meaning, Marshall

yes, IPOB–In Pursuit of Balance

Too obvious for us to take note of? OL = offline

and Buzz’ fify—fixed it for you

Not sure how many of the bubbleheads use CdC–Comtes du Champagne

STFU - as in what you say when some idiot posts a new thread about low auction prices in vintage port and immediately creates competition for the lots on which I am bidding.

SWIMBO - You bought how much wine? You’ll never drink it all.

I would one of these abbreviations to WfK ( William f******g Kelley) as a sign of respect. He is by far the most helpful and well- know trade writer on these boards and surpasses the numbers of posts from all the other sources above combined. LPB has only entered the fray in order to promote her own “independent” publication. WfK deserves his own 3 letter moniker. It is actually in his name abbreviation!

The abbreviation “MC” has appeared in several tasting notes on my CellarTracker feed lately, not as “monopole cru” but rather as some kind of flavor component or chemical precursor. Anyone know what that would be?

Not a noob, but no clue what these are. Probably should post the actual words your recommendations to the list actually mean. Might be useful.

I’m on a couple of Bordeaux wine shop mailing lists. I believe GCC stands for Grand Cru ClassĂ© in a French context.
