The 2019 was a fun wine! Didn’t take detailed notes as I had people over and was trying to convince them to get into BeserkerDay… but lots of baking spice, energy, and some unusual funky/stemmy character. People took notice and hopefully I drove some sales for tomorrow!

Yes! Cabernet Pfeffer is so awesome. A few cool bits of info- there are only ~10 acres left in the world of this variety, all found in the Cienega Valley (East side of the Gabilan Mtn. range), although I did find a few tons in Paso Robles in 2023! Younger vines that were taken from cuttings in Cienega. Originally from SW France, its synonym is Mourtaou in France. Pfeffer means pepper in German and you’ll get white pepper, with cranberry, pomegranate, structure, good acidity and minerality from the 100+ year old vines!
