The 2009 Donnhoff Tonschiefer Dry Slate Riesling is immediately attractive with some buxom notes of freshly cut pineapple and gooseberry coupled with a little smoky mineral action. It is curvaceous but with lean hips and as it stretches out, there is a sense of something lithe and well toned. Not my idea of cerebral but quite sexy in its own way and a lot of fun.
