Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello 2004

Stunning 10 years old Brunello this is! At first pop the wine is fresh and minerality shines through. With some air the wine gets bigger and darker in style with sweet black cherries, liquorish, savory tones and gamy meats mixing in with the classic Tuscan spices. The pallet is structured and in perfect balance between more fresh red-like berries and the spiciness with great tannins. The finish is intense and delightful and we had the wine with well-hung T-bone steaks and the tannins cut right through the meat and it was a great match [cheers.gif]

Thanks for the note, Mikael.

I’ve got lots of 04 BdM to start exploring. Looking forward to it.
