Last night’s dinner was Churro Lamb loin chops, seasoned with granulated garlic, garlic pepper, and mint, and pan-grilled in Meyer lemon olive oil; with asparagus steamed and finished with garlic powder, garlic pepper, and Kosher salt. Wine was a 2007 Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage ‘Les Chênes Verts’ - fill still under the capsule; cork barely colored; poured into our glasses through a Vinturi, good rich dark currant and blackberry fruit, ok acidity, a little bit of tannins; with a medium long fruity finish.
Then for dessert we had Double Gloucester and Provençal Brie with the remains (from a previous meal) of a 2002 Domaine de la Pousse d’Or Corton-Bressandes - bright acidity and rich fruit; it was very good with the cheeses. The TCA taint was very muted.
