Settling down for Christmas Eve with the weather a mild 20 degrees C and clear sky. The christmas backing track is on and the champagne is about to be poured as I kick back after a busy year. Thanks to you all for the stimulation, information and fun that the board has brought to me.
Merry Christmas to all from the Barossa. Cool day here (22 degrees C) with a brisk southerly blowing. Will have to have lunch inside. Just popped a 1994 Belle Epoque waiting for the extended family to arrive. Nice mature notes of toast, mushroom and brulee. There is a suggestion of baked apple and the sweetness of the dosage is nicely countered by a lick of lemony acidity.
Merry Christmas Anthony and all Beserkers, from cosmopolitan Cootamundra, located deep in rural NSW and home to my in laws.
About to pop some Rockford sparkling Shiraz on the verandah, with some Henschke Hill of Grace for dinner later. A later start than usual, but as Aussie as it gets
Merry Xmas indeed. Off to a great start here just opened the 2004 Tulloch Botrytis Semillon which is screwcap and 350ml. First of 3 bottles I have in the cellar and great start with some fluffy chocolate cake. Nice caramel flavors, orange, dried fruits, raisins, yum! Should develope next hour or so eh.
