Chicken - Rice Soup with Rousanne

Tonight’s light supper was a chicken, vegetable, and rice soup - both wild and brown rice, both light and dark meat chicken, rich chicken stock, carrots, celery, & garlic, seasoned with SI Salad Herbs and rosemary. It was enjoyable with a 2004 Tablas Creek Rousanne - medium yellow gold in color; a Northern Rhône light - not as rich or complex, with a similar flavor profile, but still tasty with the soup. We ate out on our patio again, since it was the warmest day so far. Fortunately on our patio we’re sheltered from the normal big wind gusts, and the breeze turns cool earlier than on the sunny side. The snow is now mostly gone from the local mountains, with our warm weather the last week or so.

Then for dessert we’ll have chocolates with the last of the Port we started previously.

ROOOOOOOUSSANE! You don’t have to put on the red light!

So, you’re a Sting fan?

Nice! Like their Rousanne, and their Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc even more.
Have you had the Rousanne from Cass? Good stuff!
