Chicken and Corn, Potatoes, & Chard with Santenay

Tonight’s dinner was the the broth, corn, and potatoes left over from our braised chicken dinner a few nights ago, with added chard, chicken from our rotisseried chicken, and chopped garlic. Wine was a 2005 Berard Morey et Fils Santenay 1er Cru Grand Clos de Rousseau - cork barely colored, wine still above the capsule; good white fruit with more then adequate acidity; with a medium long fruity finish.

Then for dessert we shared a ripe Fuji apple with Gloucester/Stilton and Canadian Black Diamond Cheddar with a 1985 Grgich Hills Late-Harvest Riesling - cork saturated about a half inch, dark orange in color; good complex white fruit, with good acidity; and a long complex fruity finish. It was very good with the cheeses.
