We would be impolite guests if we did not comport with local customs.
Also, the closest Denny’s is in Norridge, which is technically within the city limits, without being in the city limits.

You guys must have lots of time to waste if you’re dining at the restaurant chain with the world’s slowest service.
It sounds like you have a lot of experience with this establishment. Would you consider acting as our Denny’s Sherpa?

Maybe Tom’s choice of tables is why it takes the servers so long to refill his Sanka.

Where else is he gonna do lines? The bathrooms are filthy.

Denny’s won?
Only got votes from handsome Kevin
Today, both Brass Heart and Claudia announced that they are closing.
Too bad about Claudia, one of the best meals I’ve had in the last few years. I didn’t even realize Brass Heart was still open, all my prior visits were unremarkable.
Pequod’s
Hi. I am in need of help. Looking, last minute which is tough, for the best restaurant from a food quality vs ambience if that makes sense. Most of the ‘top’ restaurants are already booked like Alenia Soo not sure what to choose for the two of us- wine is the least of the concerns. We are staying in River North, prefer to stay close within 1-2 miles if possible.
Appreciate the suggestions as many from earlier threads are closed, not as good, etc. thank you in advance.
Try The Kitchen on Dearborn in River North - gorgeous room comfortable service and very good food,
Alpana is in River North and has a great (and reasonably priced) wine menu.
You also can’t go wrong with Rick Bayliss’ spots including Frontera Grill and Topolobampo (fine dining).
I also think Bavette’s is the best Chicago Steakhouse (don’t skip dessert).
Gibson’s Italia (their Italian focused spot) is phenomenal too.
Asador Bastian. Definitely not cheap but terrific. They have some post-8pm reservations tonight
Thank you both! Will look into these. Headed to Chi-town next week.
Obelix was really, really good a few months ago. Purple Pig is another option.
Sepia could be a good option.
Tzuco is a good French/Mexican hybrid
Bayless spots - both fine dining and also casual ike Xoco’) are fun but I believe he still closes on Sundays - just in case you are scheduling. (And in you fly in/out of Ohare, his locations in the airport are good spots for good food and takeout margaritas)
Thank you all. Seems Thursday is a big night. Appreciate all the responses!
