I have no idea as to what the truth is, but the story I wrote about above was told to me by a nice gentleman with a French accent who was pouring the wine at Zachy’s about 10 years ago and who claimed to be a member of the family.

For what it’s worth, I stopped by Chapoutier when I visited Hermitage a few years ago and they told me the exact same thing Jay heard
