I’ve heard recently that single variety Cotes-du-Rhone is not allowed (anymore … or ever?)
A 100% Grenache C.d.Rhone had to be declassified.
Could that be the reason?

I thought this rule applies to the Reds only?
But I am certainly not an expert here.
