Chateau de Bligny champagne?

What’s the word on Chateau de Bligny’s champagnes? Curious as I was not familiar with this grower/producer, and it seems they’re starting to make a push in the US (they’re hosting a wine dinner in Atlanta this week). Their Clos du Chateau “Cuvée Six Cepages” sounds pretty unique and interesting.

Well, I guess they really are just starting out in the US. I think they have distribution in just a handful of cities so far. Tasted the lineup at a dinner with Paul Chevalier tonight (ex Veuve) - quick notes from memory - the Grande Reserve NV Brut is nice, a bit more mineral and crisp than similar champagnes, nice body (retail $30-ish); the Blancs de Blancs a bit more traditional and more full-bodied, quite nice (retail $50-ish); the Rose steers a bit more fruity, but not over the top at all, good balance (retail $50-ish)… all three of those are very nice grower champagnes for the price, but the real stunner is the Cuvee 6 Cepages (NV) that brings the funk, nice yeast profile, a significant bass note, paired with a pastry dessert that really tied in well to the yeast. $100 retail and well worth it, very unique with the six varietals ( 1/6 each Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier, Arbanne, Meslier and Pinot Blanc) but still totally of Champagne.

Oh, and they poured the d’Esclans Garrus last night as well - wow, that is an explosive rose, one you can really dig into.
