Charvin Cotes de Rhone 2000

Not really a note but as this is my last bottle of a really outstanding value for money wine I thought I should just mention that it is still drinking great. Not one faulty wine and 12 lovely bottles drunk over last 3 years.
Personally much prefer the Charvin CdR than their CdP although I suspect the latter will be very nice with a lot more bottle age.
Chapeau Charvin----excellent QPR [welldone.gif]

Agreed. Charvin’s CdR is so pure in its expression and just always a joy to drink. The 2004 is just opening up after some serious sleeping…

It is a lot of fun to discover something like this and hang on to it and still find it so fresh. I am going to open a 2001 Marquis Philips Sarah’s Blend and report back!

Yes it is Daniel, Another brilliant wine I am slowly getting through is the Giaconda Warner Vineyard Shiraz 2002. A bit more expensive than the Charvin but an absolutely outstanding wine that justifies the 98 pts rating given to it by Aussie wine expert Jeremy Oliver.

Wow, sounds interesting…how much did that cost?

It cost £22 a bottle three years ago but is now available at one merchant in the UK for nearly double that.Still great value IMHO.

Drinking the 2013 this late afternoon and its lovely stuff…not heavy at all. Would not have thought of 2013 as a vintage to buy in the so. Rhone but this is a surprise…

Yes, I have had the Charvin CdR several times (at least) but have never aged it.
