Ever mix 'em? Saw an article in Esquire about mixing Thomas Handy Rye with Yellow Chartreuse. I love both on their own but can’t imagine them together.
Before I go out and buy myself a Chartreuse, anyone try this concoction?

I haven’t but I have a buddy who loves Sazeracs, which is rye & absinthe, pretty much the same thing.
Chartreuse is intensely herbal and sickly sweet - a little goes a long way. The best rye/chartreuse cocktail I’ve ever tried is the “Final Ward” from a NYC bar called Death &Co Co. It is a variation on the equally good Last Word cocktail. You combine equal parts Rye, Chartreuse, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur (which I use in cocktails far more frequently than Chartreuse), and lemon juice. Shake, pour into a chilled cocktail glass, and enjoy!
