• The 1969 Beaulieu VIneyard “Georges de Latour” Cabernet Sauvignon was, in my opinion, utterly perfect and frankly the best Cabernet or Bordeaux blend (new world or old) I’ve ever tasted. I cannot imagine that type of wine getting better. @Scott_Brunson thank you again for bringing this and please throw in a note that does this bottle justice.

Absolutely fascinating. The 1968 and 1970 are the ones (as far as I know) with the big reputations - and they deserve it, esp. the 1970. Fabulous that the 1969 was so good. Have never had that one.

Admittedly I don’t have much experience with seriously aged, serious Bordeaux, and less with Napa. That wine knocked my socks off, though, and thought it was comfortably ahead of the Bordeaux from the previous night. I think most felt similar but wouldnt put it as high in their personal pantheons.
